Designed by Czech architect Petr Kolar, the overall design concept is contemporary, yet intimate, with Maldivian nuances. Comprised of 43 private villas, 18 of them over water, 8 two-bedroom houses and 4 four-bedroom residences. Velaa Private Island boasts an extraordinary culinary experience with its outlets that are unrivaled throughout the Maldives. With three restaurants including the award winning Aragu Signature Restaurant, two bars and a wine cellar, Velaa Private Island offers an extensive selection of outlets available for guests. Working alongside the distinguished brands Dr Burgener from Switzerland and Kotoshina from Japan, Velaa Spa counts itself amongst only a handful of retreats throughout the world. Other features which are uniquely Velaa are the most exclusive wine cellar in the Maldives, a Golf Academy by Jose Maria Olazabal, a kids club designed by the owner’s daughter as well as the biggest fleet of water sport toys in the country.
