Excellent

Excellent hotel.

Nestled amidst a nature preserve, under a canopy of trees, Rio Perdido Guanacaste is a 20-bungalow luxury resort. Set at the point where the cool waters of the Rio Blanco converge with the hot waters or Rio Peridido, guests can experience a plethora of recreational activities including zip lining through White Canyon on a Canyon Adventure and mountain biking through the preserve, relax by the pool, or unwind at the spa.

The sustainably-focused resort's guest bungalows are distributed into three segments, and suspended above the ground via 7 well grounded columns. Accommodations are access via elevated pathways that connect to resort paths and hiking trails. Within each bungalow, there are comfortable bedrooms, along with separate flexible living spaces equipped with multimedia areas, coffee stations, desks, and minibars. Terraces have hammocks, and bathrooms feature concrete construction with inlaid recycled glass bottles and stone, along with floor-to-ceiling sandblasted windows.

Given the property's unique location, guests have access to a variety of adventures including hikes to spot mammals, reptiles, and native flora, white water tubing in the wet season, Canyon Adventure course with zip lining, and mountain biking. For relaxation, there's an outdoor pool with lounge chairs.

There is a spa offering a variety of massage treatments designed to inspire wellness. Guests also have access volcanic mud body-painting treatments, where guests are given mud in natural carved buckets with brushes, to paint on the mud, let dry, and rinse in the warm river water.

For dining, the hotel's restaurant offers chef-prepared international and local cuisine created with locally sourced ingredients for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Rio Perdido is a true, modern ecolodge that offers luxury comforts and amenities and is designed for the nature lover, the avid hiker, the outdoor adventurer, plus travelers that are simply looking for a quiet place to disconnect.

Please note: As of January 2017, this resort only accepts guests aged 8 and older.
