Originally built as a monastery in 1621, the Sofitel Legend Santa Clara Hotel is a reference point in the heart of Cartagena de Indias, where its walls, which acted as a shield in ancient times, combine with colonial balconies and republican structures to evoke the splendor of days gone by. In recognition of its great cultural and architectural wealth, the walled city, with its castles and bastions, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Center in 1984.
