Excellent hotel. Awesome vibe. Beautiful beach. Fantastic service.
Along a white powder stretch of Godahl Beach, Mandarin Oriental, Canouan is an ultra luxury resort in the heart of the Grenadines. Set on the northeast coast of the island, the remote island getaway is part of a leafy 1,200-acre gated resort.
The intimate resort has just 26 suites and 13 villas, all with ocean views. Furnished in cream tones with sleek wooden accents and pink highlights, each of the rooms and suites has a terrace or garden steps from the beach, tablet controls for customizing guests' stays, and all-marble bathrooms with baths and showers. For added seclusion, the 6 Lagoon Villas have private infinity pools, and the 8 Italian-design Patio Villas have contemporary design with private pools and outdoor patio living areas.
The resort has five exclusive gourmet restaurants and bars, including Asianne with an open kitchen and Pan Asian cuisine. The Tides Bar + Grill has European fine dining with responsibly sourced ingredients, and the Lagoon Cafe serves Mediterranean-style seafood and tapas. While the Pool Bar has an ideal setting for Peruvian Nikkei-inspired dishes, and the Turtles Beach Bar is a stylish setting for evening cocktails.
The spa has a hillside setting with 10 treatment suites. Offering a range of rejuvenating treatments, facials, and therapies featuring ESPA products, guests can also partake in guided yoga and meditation classes on a platform facing the sea.
For recreation, there is an 18-hole Fazio-designed championship golf course, as well as an infinity pool overlooking the ocean. The watersports centre has hobie cats, windsurf equipment, and kayaks, while snorkeling and diving excursions as well as boat trips to neighboring islands can be arranged. Mountain bikes are available for a guided circuit around the resort, guests can go on guided hikes to the highest point on the island, Mount Royal, and the Kids' Club has two pools for young travelers.
