Location Summary
As a matter of fact, the Romans were right! “Faviente loca” means “a pleasant place”, and this is the name they chose for the capital of Fayence country, the city of Fayence. Made up of eight little villages, all perched along the hillside, this land is ideally situated between the land and the sea, while its roots deeply anchored in ancient history. Most notably famous for its sailplane centre, the Pays de Fayence has managed to maintain the charm and serenity of the authentic postcard-perfect Provence, with the pretty little villages of the Haut-Var, which seem to have stepped right out of a dream of the South of France! The old sun-bleached stones that absorb 360 days of sunshine each year, little squares refreshed by colossal plane trees, paved lanes, centuries-old castles, red shingles upon every rooftop... And of course, the Verdon Gorge, as spectacular as a film set, with vineyards as far as the eye can see... Authenticity and history at every turn!
