Blancaneaux Lodge

Nestled in a remote mountain setting above the jungle canopy where waterfalls cascade into pools, Blancaneaux Lodge is a luxury hotel in the Maya Mountains. Providing a relaxing retreat, the Coppola Hideaways property has a variety of amenities including an on-site spa with an outdoor hot pool, as well as a swimming pool, horse stables, and farm-to-fork cooking classes.

The lodge offers 20 garden cabanas, luxury cabanas, and villas, each set within individual thatched roof dwellings. Featuring Guatemalan decor, accommodations include modern amenities such as illy espresso machines, ceiling fans, alarm clocks with docking stations, and shellphones for communicating with reception. Minibars are stocked with beverages and local snacks, there are writing tables, and in-room safes. There's also bathrooms with locally-sourced and organic amenities, plus bathrobes and hairdryers. In addition, some dwellings have telescopes for stargazing.

Montagna Ristorante serves traditional Italian cuisine with a focus on Coppola family recipes. Guatemaltecqua Restaurant provides a poolside setting specializing in Guatemalan cuisine which draws from Mexican, Caribbean, and Mayan traditions. The Jaguar Bar has a hand-carved slate bar and a variety of cocktails, while the Garden Spot provides a unique dining option amidst the property’s organic garden.

The Waterfall Spa is set on the banks of Privassion Creek. Guests can choose from a variety of a treatments, wraps, and massages. Plus, there's a rejuvenating hot pool overlooking waterfalls.

Recreational options include swimming in the property's swimming pool, deep cool pools close to the lodge, hidden rock pools leading to Big Rock Falls, or along the sandy beaches and waterfalls of Privassion Creek. There's also a horse barn offering guided tours through the surrounding forests. Along with a gift shop and organic garden to explore.

Originally a Coppola family retreat, the luxury hideaway opened to the public in 1993. As part of the Coppola Hideaways collection, environmental-focused travelers will appreciate that the property is aligned with Francis Ford Coppola's vision of creating unique eco-lodges with hydro energy systems from adjacent river, and conservation practices throughout the resort.
